As a Sr. Backend

Cloud Software Engineer at Carbon Robotics you will work alongside your software, mechanical and electrical peers to build AI and robotics products. In particular, you will be involved in the design and implementations of our cloud infrastructure and backend services.

You’ll do whatever it takes - which might include going to the farm - to ensure our customers have reliable and safe products .

What you’ll do

:

Partner with Engineering teams to build and scale cloud and on-prem infrastructure software to support our revolutionary LaserWeeding solution.

Build and troubleshoot cloud applications and tooling to support a dynamic and continuous machine learning model training pipeline.

Maintain and scale cloud services, including services that provide remote monitoring, geo spatial data and visibility to our fleet of Robots located around the globe.

Work at a fast pace nimble software team working on problems that never been solved before

Drive decision through project planning, task delegation and leading problem solving efforts to iterate quickly

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities for Success:

Experience building services and distributed systems on a machine or in the cloud

5+ years of programming using Go and Python

AWS or similar cloud provider experience required

Proficiency with web services (REST/GRPC)

Relational databases (MySQL/Postgres/Sqlite) and Non-Relational databases (Redis)

Solid Kubernetes and container orchestration experience

General knowledge of observability tools (Prometheus ecosystem is a plus)

Working knowledge of provisioning (IaC) tools such as Terraform or Ansible

Some experience with Deep Learning Pipelines is a plus

Effective verbal and written communication skills and a desire to work in multidisciplinary teams

BS+ in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field

The compensation range outlined is based on a target budgeted base salary. Individual base pay depends on various factors such as relevant experience and skill, Interview assessments and responsibility of role, job duties/requirements. Offers are determined using our equitable hiring practices. Carbon Robotics offers additional compensation in the form of benefits premiums, pre-IPO stock options and On Target Earning commissions for appropriate positions. Base pay ranges are reviewed each year. We are committed to the principle of pay equity – paying employees equitably for similar work.

$128,898—$211,388 USD

Commercial growers of specialty and organic crops buy LaserWeeders from Carbon Robotics because they reduce weed control costs by up to 80% and increase crop quality, yields, and consistency.
