Job Summary
We are looking for a Construction Manager with construction management skills including quality, financials, productivity, schedule, design interpretation, and project document storage. Construction Managers typically are required to have a minimum 50% travel schedule, but that may be closer 100% based on the project manager’s expectations.
Job Description
Management of General Contractor/Subcontractors.
Supports the development of construction quality requirements and construction document control programs.
Responsible for the Submittal, RFI & Drawing Management processes.
Supports in the development and maintenance of the Construction Master Schedule.
Supports development and management of the 3-week look ahead
Coordinates all on-site activities and manpower resourcing.
Drives overall cost control, cost forecasting, invoicing, and financial management.
Manages the productivity tracking programs, trend analysis, and recovery planning.
Analyze impacts to schedules & cost of recovery/acceleration.
Work with the General Contractor to review the project financial management program and analyze information for project strategic decisions.
Risk analysis and reporting.
Supports PM in negotiations with subcontractor/vendor disputes.
Reviews and approves project pre-planning.
Accountable for project completion milestone progress tracking.
Maintain weekly updates and weekly reports.
Manage on-site stakeholder relations.
Skills Required
8+ years experience in construction management, schedule development, contract compliance, and change management.
Advanced analytical skills to address problems, identify root causes, and generate potential workarounds
Possess excellent communication and negotiation skills.
Experience in construction means and methods.
Some experience in project financial setup, tracking, reporting, and management.
Full production tracking process development, trending, and recovery planning.
Understanding of procurement process and management.
Basic understanding of contract language.
Basic understanding of development and execution of change management process.
Displays leadership skills.
Basic ability to plan and coordinate multiple projects simultaneously.
Global awareness of how projects fit into Vanguard Renewables’ greater purpose.
Ability to develop document control programs.
Familiar with blueprints and specifications.
Basic knowledge of estimating, bidding, proposal writing, and contract negotiation to support the Project Manager.
Understanding of construction equipment and safe operating practices.
Education/Training/Certifications
High School degree or GED
