job summary:
A Lead Engineer in the Los Angeles, CA area is needed for a multinational power management company. This position will provide technical leadership, oversee multiple projects, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and drive innovation and standardization in product design and development within the Aerospace industry.

salary: $39.57 - 55.00 per hour
work hours: 8am to 4pm
responsibilities:
Provide technical design, analysis, guidance for new product development
Decision-making authority for Mechanical Engineering
Guide and direct applicable IPT technical decisions
Engineer with IPT to design, analyze, implement product designs and improvements
Lead problem-solving efforts in design, inspection, manufacturing, and testing
Plan, organize, control, and lead multiple projects
Establish and oversee project objectives, schedules, budgets
Resolve program change of scope issues with Project Engineering
Serve as primary technical contact for cross-functional teams
Liaison between Engineering and internal/external customers
Create and guide creation of design standards, technical documents
Present product design, data, analysis, recommendations to customers, management
Provide technical leadership, mentoring, coaching
Ensure standardization of product design, adherence to engineering processes
Collaborate with peers, managers for key goals, objectives
Review and amend goals, objectives as needed
Coordinate creation, update of engineering documents
Lead studies, improvements for cost reduction, first-time yield
Lead and participate in cross-functional Root Cause and Corrective Action (RCCA) investigations
Provide engineering input, technical expertise for failure investigation, customer-returned hardware
Required Qualifications:
Minimum 5 years of mechanical, project engineering, design experience in aerospace/hydraulic/vehicle industry
OR Master's degree and minimum 2 years of aerospace/hydraulic/vehicle industry experience
Minimum 2 years' experience in implementing hydraulic product design, testing in plant environment
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor's/Master's degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering
Experience in Aerospace Industry
Experience with Pro/Engineer, Enovia PLM, or similar 3D design tools
Experience with hydraulic, pneumatic, or electromechanical product design using Advanced manufacturing techniques
Ability in Geometrical Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T), tolerance stack-up analyses
Ability to perform basic structural and/or performance analysis
Working knowledge of Design for Six Sigma (DFSS), Design for Manufacturability (dfM), Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA), Design of Experiments (DOE), Root Cause and Corrective Action (RCCA)
