We're seeking an experienced Estimator who is a dynamic problem-solver with adaptive skills and capabilities to join our team.

Job Summary:

The ideal candidate will be tasked with accurately estimating project costs through detailed line-item budgets by trade with unit costs. The role demands acute attention to detail and a proven ability to excel in a fast-paced environment with strict deadlines. Responsibilities also include cultivating and maintaining strong client and vendor relationships.

Responsibilities:

• Build and maintain valued relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure client satisfaction

• Conduct initial analysis of drawings and specifications to ensure required documentation is present and determine the scope of work to develop estimates

• Analyze electrical, mechanical, architectural drawings and other documents to use in the preparation of detailed estimates

• Responsible for the preparation of bid documents and proposals

• Manage large and/or multiple project estimates independently

• Strategize with clients, vendors, and personnel in other departments to formulate estimates

• Review contracts on awarded jobs and ensure the contracts include our exclusions, and clarifications, and reflect the proposal scope

• Manage bid follow-ups

• Participate in job walks and pre-bid meetings as needed

• Capture all activity and sales-related data in the CRM system (BuilderTrend)

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, construction management, or a related field, or equivalent combination of technical training and experience

• Minimum of 5-10 years experience in budgeting and estimating for commercial construction projects including offsite civil and underground utilities, commercial TI/interior, multifamily, retail, prevailing wage work, concrete, grading, and restaurant knowledge a plus

• Proficiency in reading commercial architectural and construction plans, specifications, and takeoffs

• Strong computer skills and proficiency in BuilderTrend, Bluebeam, PlanSwift, and Excel

• Possess excellent analytical and organizational skills and strong verbal and written communication skills

• Ability to prioritize, work with tight schedules, deliver deadlines, and manage multiple projects concurrently

• Resourceful and diligent in seeking solutions to problems and adapting to new situations
