Job DescriptionJob DescriptionThe Quality Manager will manage all quality matters for a construction contract and shall have the authority and organizational freedom to act in all quality matters for the Design-Builder. The Quality Manager shall be responsible for the development, continuous evaluation of the effectiveness, and any subsequent revisions of the Quality Management Program.
Responsibilities:
Work directly with the Design Quality Engineer and the Construction Quality Engineer to ensure that the Design-Builder’s Quality Plan is being implemented.
Review all Design-Builder agreements with Subcontractors and Suppliers to ensure inclusion of all applicable quality requirements.
Prepare and submit a monthly quality monitoring report to the Project CEO describing all design and construction issues that arose the prior month, including nonconformance and observations and their corrective actions.
Attend weekly progress meetings at a minimum and such other meetings as the Project CEO or his designee may request.
Be the primary point of contact, on an on-call basis, to the Project CEO for all issues relating to the Design-Builder’s Quality Plan (preparation, review, implementation, and updates).
Establish the education, experience, and on-the-job training requirements for Quality Staff.
Take necessary action as may be required to prevent installation of material which has not been properly approved for use, affects safety, does not conform to quality standards, and/or inhibits the progress of work.
Verify and document that all materials received for the project are in conformance with the approved submittal, are handled and stored appropriately, and are installed and acceptable for use in the project.
Establish the education, experience, and on-the-job training requirements for the Quality Staff
Maintain the qualifications of all personnel performing inspections and tests.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in engineering, architecture, construction or project management, transportation, or a related field.
Hold a valid New York State Professional Engineer license.
Has demonstrated relevant quality experience in the capacity of full-time Quality Assurance and/or Quality Control management.
Prior quality experience with MTA-related construction projects.
Certified in Quality Management from the American Society for Quality (ASQ) or the American Society of Civil Engineers. Other relevant experience and/or education may be accepted.
