The US Omega accounting team is looking for an Accounting Manager. The ledgers this group manages are the first cross segment/cross business unit ledgers to go-live on the new Oracle Cloud platform (Omega). Once implementations are complete, this team will have GL/Accounting responsibility for all corporate and operational entities under the US NOV LP legal entity supporting over 6000 employees across all NOV segments and Corporate. Primary Responsibilities:
* Manage and coordinate the activities of staff including training, employee development, performance evaluation, hiring decisions, and the establishment of goals and performance objectives for assigned department.* Manage month-end, quarter-end and year-end closes under strict deadline-oriented environment.* Responsible for SOX compliance and internal controls.* Responsible for managing reconciliation of all balance sheet accounts, including preparation of various month-end close schedules and reporting packages to Corporate.* Coordinates internal and external audits.* Identify opportunities to streamline accounting processes and enhance efficiency.* Develop and implement best practices to improve accuracy, timeliness, and effectiveness of financial operations.* Provide training and support to finance team members on new systems and processes.* Adhere to the criteria set by the Controller and/or the Company.* Comply with all NOV Company and HSE policies and procedures.
Required Experience and Abilities:
* Bachelor's degree in accounting/finance* 4+ years of progressive experience in accounting or finance roles, with at least some supervisory experience.* Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.* Ability understand end to end business processes.* Advanced Microsoft Excel* Strong understanding of SOX compliance* Strong understanding of US GAAP
Preferred Experience and Abilities:
* Master's degree in accounting /finance* CPA/Working towards completion of CPA* Big 4 experience* Public company experience* Prior system implementation or process improvement projects experience* Prior related industry experience* Oracle Cloud Experience
