Located in Greater Boston, MassBay is a comprehensive, open-access community college offering associate degrees and certificate programs on three campuses in Wellesley Hills, Framingham, and Ashland, Massachusetts.

Position Summary:

The ideal candidate will demonstrate a passion forteaching and promoting success among a diverse student population. Faculty members are responsible fordeveloping educational and evaluation materials consistent with the philosophyand framework of the program, MassBay Community College. The faculty member isresponsible for maintaining expertise in the discipline.

MassBay seeks an enthusiastic, collaborativeprofessional full-time, tenure-track Behavioral Health faculty to teachfirst- and second-year behavioral health courses, including Introduction toBehavioral Health, Advanced Behavioral Health, and the Behavioral HealthPracticum, in addition to sociology or psychology courses. The successfulcandidate will take an active role in the Business and Professional StudiesDivision and the Human Services Department, provide leadership for theBehavioral Health program, and teach a full-time (approximately 15 credit hoursper semester) schedule of courses.

Key Responsibilities and Duties:

Teach full time at the Wellesley Hills, Framingham, and/or Ashland campuses, and online, as assigned;

Prepare course syllabi and develop curricula to meet course and program requirements and student learning outcomes;

Coordinate practicum placements by identifying locations and guiding students during their practicums;

Serve as academic advisor to students;

Participate in the improvement and development of academic programs and resources;

Serve on College committees as elected or appointed;

Attend Program, Department, Division, and Committee meetings;

Participate in assessment of course and program learning outcomes;

Use technology effectively to communicate with students and colleagues and to enhance classroom learning as appropriate;

Engage in professional development activities to maintain excellence in the discipline and in the classroom;

Carry out other related duties as assigned by the Dean consistent with the Collective Bargaining Agreement.

Required Qualifications:

Earned master’s degree in behavioral health or psychology or a related field from an accredited college or university;

Two or more years of full-time or equivalent part-time experience teaching behavioral health, psychology or related courses;

Ability to work effectively with a diverse faculty, staff, and student body;

Strong interpersonal skills.

Sensitivity and commitment to the goals of Affirmative Action and workforce diversity;

Experience working in a diverse environment;

Demonstrated commitment to working with underserved students;

Experience in the practice of behavioral health;

Prior experience teaching online courses;

Community College teaching experience strongly preferred;

Knowledge of community college academic programs, services and culture;

Proven ability to work effectively with diverse, multicultural, and non-traditional students;

Prior experience teaching online courses;

Effective use of materials and assignments that develop the writing and critical thinking skills of students and integrate the cultural wealth each student brings to the classroom.

Additional Information:

Salary Range: $52,970-$60,718,in accordance with one's education andexperience as dictated by the collective bargaining agreement classificationcompensation structure.
