The Role and Responsibilities
Owner of the Reliability and Maintenance functional processes for plant site. Provide functional direction to multiple work teams. Develop and lead the facility maintenance strategy. Implement equipment maintenance strategies. Accountable for the overall application of the Maintenance Work Process and alignment to the plant needs. Responsible for competency profiles, development, deployment and compensation in their span of control. Responsible for maintenance reliability metrics.
Your Key Responsibilities:
Lead their span of control
Collaborate with other resources and work processes
Deliver results for safety, reliability and maintenance cost optimization
Provide functional direction to site Turnaround work team
Provide functional direction to site Maintenance Repair and Operations team
Provide functional direction to site Mechanical Integrity and Quality Assurance team
Provide functional direction to site SAP Data team
Accountable for, or contributes towards the safety, productivity, quality and overall effectiveness of the work force
Leverage the Global Maintenance Work Process and Sub-Processes across plant or unit
Develop and leads the facility maintenance strategy
Implement equipment maintenance strategies
Accountable for the overall application of the Maintenance Work Process and overall alignment to the plant needs. This means:
Implement Maintenance Work Process to the level that is locally required and add value to the operating unit or business
Ensure effective linkages with other processes
Ensure that all Maintenance Procedures include a hazard assessment indicating safety, health and environmental considerations and control measures to prevent contact or exposure. This information can be documented in the hazards and precautions table, the control measures block, or can be referenced in other documentation such as the, PPE Grid, SDS or equivalent.
Accountable for functional/administrative goals and for establishing the budget that is consistent with the business needs
Responsible for cost management
Assure proper Maintenance staffing levels for their span of control
Accountable for resourcing reliability and maintenance reps for small capital projects and maintenance improvement projects
Responsible for resourcing reliability and maintenance reps for large capital projects and maintenance improvement projects
Responsible for competency profiles, employee development, deployment, and compensation in their span of control
Drives emergence of culture and desired behavior
Analyzes and audits work process results
Responsible for specific Maintenance Reliability Metrics
Articulates the expectations of all functional maintenance employees via the Site vision, Facility Maintenance Strategy, MI plan and common behaviors
Coordinate/sponsor the formation of teams for timely resource leveraging to support significant opportunities
Demand use of the Management of Change for value added improvements
Accountable for measuring the performance of individuals against the expectations of the work processes and the utilization of most effective technology
Ensures delivery of agreed to services as required by the business, area or site
Optimizes the interface to other work processes within the business, area or site
Actively participates in Maintenance Leadership teams within the business or site
Ensures delivery of best in class services to the businesses
Your Qualification Profile:
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or a related filed is required
10-15 years of manufacturing or related experience required
People Leadership experience
Technical understanding of all unit and site processes.
Knowledge of appropriate standards, protocols, and systems.
Microsoft Office knowledge and skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
Functional understanding of Maintenance Scheduling software
Understanding of Maintenance Repair and Operations standards
Functional understanding of SAP Master Data
Strong interpersonal and Conflict Resolution Skills with the ability to influence managers, peers and the maintenance team
Effective risk management and mitigation skills
Demonstrated skill in verbal and written communications, planning and organizing.
Excellent organization and time management skills to include prioritization, scheduling, and optimizing work force skills and resources
Root cause analysis, troubleshooting and problem-solving skill
Safety, Quality & Environmental Auditing skills
Leadership skills – Coaching & mentoring.
Proven understanding of Unit Maintenance Work Management Processes
