Senior Financial Analyst

General Description: Responsible for effective forecasting and financial reporting for assigned areas. Work closely with various departments/divisions. Includes finance, sales, regional management, and the National Accounting Center. Ensure forecast and other reporting reflect the most current data available.

Responsibilities:

Analyze monthly production results to determine the breakout of production revenue. Produce a revenue roll-forward by line of business and operating company prior to month-end close deadline.

Manage and maintain the largest operating company or revenue loads in respective region.

Produce accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual regional financial reports.

Prepare monthly forecast by line of business and operating company.

Ensure accuracy of HR data; review actual results trend to forecasted trend.

Review and update new and lost business data with practice leaders and managers.

Review revenue forecast for CRM pipeline.

Review revenue trailing trends, modify forecast as necessary.

Update expense forecast.

Prepare narrative analysis for operating company results. Includes prior year, prior forecast, and budget comparisons. Communicate to all appropriate parties.

Review producer compensation calculations.

Ensure timing, shock loss, and other NCF changes are compliant with NCF rollforward guidelines.

Manage the revenue and expense variance reporting process throughout the month.

Oversee and assist in creating annual budget for use as a performance guide and basis of measurement. Act as a liaison with the National Accounting Center to roll up Regional Budget.

Compile and prepare mid-month Producer Variance Report. Prepare forecast for month-end revenue and expense projections.

Prepare ad hoc reports and analyses to assist management team. Provide insight on results and future activities related to revenue and expenses.

Complete variance analysis and special projects for decision-making.

Contribute to the development of policies and procedures. Provide recommendations to facilitate the workflow throughout the accounting department and company.

Assist with the compliance and communication of internal controls.

Work with Accounts Receivable management for assigned operating companies.

Collaborate with Corporate Finance/IT department to continually improve data flows, reporting systems, and analysis.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

5 years + experience in accounting or finance. Experience in the insurance field a plus.

Bachelor’s degree in business administration, finance, or accounting. CPA or MBA preferred.

SAP experience preferred.

Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.

Strong technical skills with Microsoft Office products, including Excel.

Self-motivated with a proactive attitude.

Strong organizational, time management, and multi-tasking skills.

Ability to work in a fast-paced, team environment with minimal instruction.

Ability to work with all levels of staff and management to maximize performance, creativity, problem solving, and results.
