Boston BoatWorks LLC's service department is seeking a skilled and versatile Marine Service Technician to join our team. As a Marine Service Technician, you will be responsible for performing various tasks related to marine electrical systems, marine systems, and general marine yard duties. Your expertise will be vital in ensuring the smooth operation, maintenance, and repair of marine vessels and equipment.
Responsibilities:
Conduct inspections, troubleshooting, repairs, and installations of marine electrical systems, including wiring, lighting, and navigation equipment.
Perform diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance on marine systems such as plumbing, HVAC, and hydraulic systems.
Assist with general marine yard tasks, including vessel lifting, launching, hauling, and storage.
Apply and maintain coatings and finishes to marine structures, decks, and furnishings, ensuring high-quality and durable finishes.
Collaborate with team members to coordinate and prioritize work orders, ensuring timely completion of tasks.
Keep accurate records of work performed, including documentation of repairs, parts used, and time spent.
Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work environment.
Provide exceptional customer service, addressing client inquiries and ensuring their satisfaction.
Requirements:
Proven experience as a Marine Service Technician or similar role, with a strong background in marine electrical systems, marine systems, and general marine yard tasks.
Knowledge of Volvo engines, onboard and offboard
Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing marine electrical systems, including wiring, lighting, and navigation equipment.
Familiarity with marine systems such as plumbing, HVAC, and hydraulic systems, with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues.
Knowledge of wood coatings and finishes, with the ability to apply and maintain them accurately and efficiently.
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team.
Ability to handle physically demanding tasks and work in various weather conditions.
Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
Relevant certifications or trade qualifications are a plus.
