**Position Overview:**
POSITOIN SUMMARY:
Performs general security work in the protection of persons and property and the enforcement of all applicable policies, rules and regulations of Sutter Health and applicable federal, state, and local laws to prevent losses due to accidents and incidents Provides supervision on a daily basis.
Principal Accountabilities
Collects data of monthly security incidents in accordance with regulatory compliance reporting guidelines. This
includes incident trending and alarm testing reporting to the Environment of Care Committee (EOC), the Life Safety,
Utility, Medical Equipment and Security Sub-Committee (LUMS), Sutter Neuroscience Institute (Gamma Knife),
Emergency Preparedness Committee (EP), etc.
Completes special assignments, as requested, performance evaluated in terms of accuracy, completion by due
date, adherence to instructions and cooperation.
Demonstrates sound judgment in identifying authorized and/or unauthorized persons through escorting procedures,
by courteously questioning said persons and/or by detaining all unauthorized persons, if warranted.
Directs Security Officers in executing the components of the Security Management Program by performing the
duties personally or through subordinates.
Patrols parking lots and accurately issues violation tickets where applicable.
Thoroughly performs interior/exterior building and ground patrols; secures and unlocks all hospital doors, entrances
and portals at specified times, in an effort to prevent fire, theft, misuse and vandalism of personal and company
property. Preventive patrols provide a visible deterrence to crime and reduces prohibited activities.
Tracks employee absenteeism, performs Reviews daily Pass-Down Log at the start of each worked shift and
completes entries accurately.
Works in conjunction with Management Team to ensure adequate scheduling of departmental personnel. Monitors
departmental PTO requests, making staffing recommendations to the Area-wide Operations Supervisor.

**MINIMUM POSITION REQUIREMENTS**
Education including Licensure, Certification, Registration:
High school diploma or equivalent is required. Some college is preferable.Must be in possession of a current State of California Security Officer Guard Card (or temporary work Guard CardPermit pending clearance from the State of California Bureau of Collection and Investigative Services).
**Knowledge**
General knowledge of the usual duty requirements of a security officer with
an emphasis placed on the physical andemotional maturity required for the high degree of judgment and diplomacy necessary to work efficiently in ahealthcare environment. Requires a demonstrated ability to communicate effectively. Actively participates in SutterHealth sponsored educational/training opportunities for entry level supervisors.

**Experience:**
Military, security (preferably in a hospital setting) or law enforcement/corrections background with supervisorysecurity experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience, which is typically obtained in twoyears.

Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with no supervision.
