Under general supervision, responsible for providing high level customer service to retail customers, grower- owners and Blue Diamond Growers employees that that visit the Blue Diamond Nut & Gift Shop. Operates the cash register, handles money and assists customers with purchases ensuring a positive experience. Provides occasional support for the Blue Diamond Growers online business. Ensures the cleanliness within the store and that stock levels of product on the floor are adequate. Performs general warehouse duties as necessary.**Job Description:**
**ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS**
* Interfaces with retail customers and provides customer service, to include providing information and assisting customers with purchases.
* Handles material to include packing product into containers, sealing containers, and clean up as required; stocks shelves with product; sort weighs, labels and packs merchandise.
* Provides warehouse support to Nut & Gift Shop, including retrieving product orders and stocking in the warehouse using forklift.
* Provides emergency backup assistance to E-Commerce Shipping Coordinator.
* Maintains product quality by recognizing and understanding customer specifications, defective product, packets and/or packaging.
* Identifies problems and assists in problem solving.
* Participates in monthly inventory cycle counting.
* Engages in minor maintenance and general housekeeping for the Nut and Gift Shop.
* This job description reflects managements assignment of essential functions; it does not prescribe or restrict the tasks that may be assigned.
**MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS**
* High School Diploma or GED
* 1 year of retail/customer service experience.
* Experience operating cash registers, handling money (including making change accurately) and handle materials of various weights and dimensions.
* Ability to communicate well with customers, growers and employees and provide a high level of positive customer service.
* Must have the ability to understand Blue Diamond Good Manufacturing Procedures (GMPs) and safety practices.
* Required work weekends and overtime as necessary.
* Required to stand for extended periods of time.
* Required successfully certify as a BDG forklift operator.
**PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCES**
* Prior warehouse or forklift experience.
**PHYSICAL DEMANDS**
Must be able to stand for long period of time and lift min. of 50 lb. Constant bending, lifting carrying, twisting and grasping. Store/office demands frequent speaking, both in person and by telephone; reading written reports and computer screens; operating computer keyboard and occasional climbing of ladders.
**WORK ENVIRONMENT**
Production and retail store environment with comfortable climate. Occasional contact with outside elements when loading customers vehicle with product; cool temperature (65 F) in candy/bulk product production room; warehouse not heated or air-conditioned.
