U.S. Army North Security Specialist Fort Sam Houston , Texas Apply Now Summary About the Position: This position is in the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS). Employees occupying DCIPS positions are in the Excepted Service and must adhere to U.S. Code, Title 10, as well as Department of Defense Instruction 1400.25. This position is located at the US Army North, Assistant Chief of Staff, G2 with duty location at Fort Sam Houston, Texas. Responsibilities Serves as a Security Specialist with multiple assigned responsibilities for personnel security, information security, and foreign disclosure. Responsible for the development and implementation of command policies and procedures to support a Personnel Security program. Administers the Information Security Program to ensure the safeguarding of national security information. Conducts regular security survey inspections to ascertain organizational adequacy and conformance with all policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements. Specialized experience is defined as: 1) experience with personnel security that includes reviewing, evaluating, and adjudicating reports of investigations, personnel files, and other records to determine whether to grant, deny, revoke, suspend, or restrict security clearances consistent with national security and/or suitability issues AND 2) experience with information security principles, concepts, laws, regulations and directives pertaining to classified information to ensure the classified or sensitive information or material is properly safeguarded. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GG/GS-09). Specialized experience is progressively responsible intelligence-related security work directly related to the position being filled. Creditable experience may include previous military experience, experience gained in the private sector or in another government agency as long as it was at a level at least equivalent to the next lower band in the series. OR A Ph.D or equivalent Degree that is closely related to the position. Closely Related constitutes a degree which has educated the student in pertinent, specific position-related subject matter allowing the student to develop knowledge and abilities directly applicable to the position being filled such as National Security Studies, Political Science, International Relations/Foreign Affairs, Security Management/Administrations.
