JARCCO is looking for a Construction Estimator with extensive experience in Streets, Roads, Concrete Flatwork, Earthwork, Asphalt, and Culverts.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: · Manage the estimate and bid process.· Manage the preconstruction process.· Prepare accurate and detailed construction cost estimates for projects.· Prepare bid packages.· Review project plans, specifications, and other documents to determine scope of work and project requirements.· Utilize construction estimating software to create comprehensive estimates.· Research and gather pricing information for labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor services.· Develop cost breakdowns and itemized lists of materials and labor needed for each project.· Collaborate with project managers, architects, engineers, and subcontractors to gather necessary information for estimating purposes.· Evaluate bids from subcontractors and suppliers to ensure competitive pricing.· Negotiate pricing with subcontractors and suppliers to achieve cost savings.· Building and maintaining healthy and long-term relationships with vendors, clients, and other project managers.· Performing complex analysis of collected data and metrics.· Participating in project meetings, reviewing schedules, and preparing reports.· Assist in the preparation of project budgets and schedules.· Creating and presenting reports to upper management. QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS: · Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management (REQUIRED).· Proficiency in using construction estimating software, Excel, and Bluebeam.· Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and techniques.· Knowledge of cost control measures in construction projects.· Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, and specifications.· Excellent mathematical skills for accurate calculations and measurements.· Effective communication skills to collaborate with team members, clients, subcontractors, and suppliers.· Strong attention to detail and ability to analyze complex information.· High analytical skills.· Time management skills to work on fixed deadlines.
EXPERIENCE: · Minium of 5 years of PROVEN experience in a Construction Estimator position for Road, Street or Heavy Civil projects.
