About the Role
The Company is seeking a Chief Business Officer (CBO) to play a pivotal role in the strategic development and success of the organization. The CBO will be responsible for overseeing and leading business development, corporate development, strategic planning, and alliance management activities. This includes formulating and executing the company's corporate vision, strategy, and business plan, as well as driving and leading all business development and fundraising aspects. The successful candidate will be a key member of the Executive Leadership team, influencing overall strategies, plans, and operations, and will be expected to create a long-term vision for the company and design and implement corporate and business strategies to optimize value and impact.Applicants for the CBO position should have a BSc/BA in business administration or a relevant field, with an MSc/MBA being a plus, and at least 15 years of experience in the pharmaceutical and/or biotech industry. A minimum of 7 years of business development and licensing experience with a proven track record is required. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical, organizational, and project management skills, exceptional executive presence, business acumen, and excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills. They should be a self-starter, comfortable in a fast-paced environment, and highly networked within the venture and biotech ecosystems. Demonstrated fundraising experience and the ability to lead outreach, identify collaboration partners, and negotiate complex transactions are also essential.
