Job Description
Burgess Construction Consultants, Inc. (BCCI) is looking for an experienced Construction Materials Testing Supervisor to join our team. Our Construction Materials Testing Supervisor will manage our team of Engineering Technicians that perform various observations and tests on construction materials such as soils, concrete, masonry, reinforcing steel and asphalt.

Essential Role and Responsibilities:
Candidate is responsible for the supervision, guidance, and training of all Engineering Technicians for tasks associated with observation and testing of soils, aggregates, concrete, masonry, reinforcing steel and asphalt.
Candidate must possess the ability to assist with tasks and perform basic sample tests and observation of soils, aggregates, concrete, masonry, reinforcing steel and asphalt, if necessary.
Review all test inspection reports submitted by Engineering Technicians and submit findings accurately to a Project Manager.
Handle communication between owner/client field personnel and Engineering Technicians.
Work with Project Coordinator to coordinate scheduling and reporting.
Ordering all equipment required for field testing and inspections.
Ensure that all testing equipment and tools are properly calibrated and maintained.
Implements safety rules and practices and other safety requirements for all projects. Performs pre-task planning prior to executing work. Reports any safety issues or concerns to management.
REQUIREMENTS
Must be able to work a flexible work schedule including overtime.
Must be willing to travel to offices in all company markets.
Must have reliable vehicle for field assignments (preferred vehicle: pick-up truck or large SUV).
Must be able to pass background check
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
High School Diploma or GED
Minimum 10 years of relevant CMT experience and/or supervisory experience
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and project documents.
ACI – Grade I Certification
NICET Level I or higher – (Soils, Concrete, Asphalt)
Ability to lift 10 – 60 lbs. and work outside for extended periods of time
Valid Driver’s License
Capacity to effectively communicate verbally and in writing
Familiar with a personal computer and iPad/Surface functions and uses.
Proficient in Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (Not Required)
ACI – Level II
NICET – Level III
HMAC Level IB certification
HMAC Level IA certification
ADOT ENV 103 and ENV 300 certifications
ADOT SB102
PTI Inspector certification
