REBNY (Real Estate Board of New York) seeks a strategic, action-oriented, and experienced professional to serve as its SVP, Communications. This senior-level position will be a trusted thought partner and dynamic member of the senior leadership team to tackle a wide range of deliverables at NYC’s most historic and respected real estate trade association.
The SVP will lead, manage, and coach a centralized communications team serving the entire organization. This is a compelling opportunity for an experienced communications leader to: set measurable internal and external communications goals and deliver results across multiple fronts, in the areas of member communication, policy, digital/social media, market research, public relations, crisis management, media relations, marketing, and other evolving needs critical to REBNY’s communications portfolio.
The SVP will report directly to REBNY’s President.
Qualifications
· Bachelor’s degree in communications or related field.
· At least ten years of professional experience in communications with a strong focus on strategic stakeholder messaging, communications, media, and advocacy.
· Experience in successfully designing, implementing, and evaluating communications and marketing efforts including digital media and analytics, media/press event effectiveness, collateral materials, and internal communications.
· Demonstrated success at navigating a complex political landscape amid changing priorities and advancing priority issues or campaigns over time.
· Experience with developing and implementing crisis communications strategies and tactics.
· Familiarity with current issues regarding real estate and a broad enough perspective to recognize opportunities to move communications and marketing priorities forward.
· Superior organization competencies and management of multiple projects for diverse types of audiences.
· Outstanding writer and editor of all types of content.
· Strong analytical skills to assess the most effective communications/marketing strategies in which to invest.
· Understanding ethnic, cultural, geographic, and socio-economic diversity of the real estate industry and NYC, and ability to develop culturally relevant and compelling messages for all stakeholders.
· Able to respond effectively to the most sensitive inquiries or complaints and retain composure even in high stress situations.
· Effective relationships with media outlets and reporters that cover real estate news in New York City.
· Excellent clear and concise communicator, with demonstrated success on the record and in front of the camera.
