Position Overview:
Sevco Security is currently seeking a Backend Engineer,. This is an opportunity for a Backend Engineer to work with an experienced team to solve challenging data pipeline and correlation problems with Cloud Native Technology, at scale. If data, technology, scale, challenging the Status Quo and rapid growth as part of a successful startup is your passion, we have your gig.
This is an opportunity to join a tight-knit, experienced team at an early-stage company as a backend engineer. You’ll help discover and deliver the next iteration of Sevco’s asset intelligence platform, which includes improving the features we have and discovering and delivering new ones.
What You Will Do:
Develop and automate high-performance, multi-tenant, cloud-native data pipeline processing systems
Design and iterate data models for optimal storage and retrieval for current and overtime telemetry queries
Make a difference in growing a startup by solving customer needs
Contribute to shared tooling & standards to improve the productivity and quality of the Product Engineering team
Improve software quality by using and improving internal tools to automatically detect issues
Build, improve, maintain, and scale a cloud-native stream processing system
Write, review, update and improve code and architectures for scale
Collaborate with teammates on major feature designs to offer feedback and make them better
Help grow your team through referrals, participating in interviews and have a willingness to provide candid feedback
Who You Are:
Passionate about solving customer problems
Comfortable with ambiguity and have a bias toward action to move forward through an area of rapid innovation and growth
Have worked with cloud (AWS, Azure, GCP)
Have worked distributed data systems (Kafka, Spark, Presto, etc.)
Have designed and/or developed high-performance systems with reliable logging, monitoring and alerting
Have a working knowledge of data stores and query authoring (SQL, ElasticSearch, etc)
Good communication skills, both written and verbal
Flexible and willing to pitch in to help in other areas than just writing code
Enjoy collaboration with others and being part of a team
Experience with AWS Lambda and Kinesis a plus
Experience with Rust or GoLang preferred
Experience working on Asset Inventory or Vulnerability Management products is a plus.
