Position Summary:
The History Department at Colorado College invites applications for a one-year position in History with specialty in Latin American and Caribbean history beginning in August 2024. The one-year visitor will teach six courses, each consisting of a three-and-a-half-week “block”, during the 2024-25 academic year. Applicants for this position may specialize in any aspect of Latin American and/or Caribbean history; we particularly welcome candidates with expertise in histories of indigenous cultures and societies and/or candidates whose period of specialization lies in the 19th century or earlier.
A successful candidate must exhibit potential for excellence in dynamic teaching at a small liberal arts college and must be prepared to teach Latin American history from the pre-Columbian through the colonial and post-colonial eras. Candidates must have a PhD or be ABD by the time of appointment.
