Manager, Indirect Tax (Remote)

Your Impact
This position will assist our Senior Indirect Tax Manager with all facets of indirect tax in the U.S including Sales & Use tax, Property tax, and Business Licensing. This role will have direct contact with all members of our tax team in order to work collaboratively.
What You’ll Do
Location: Remotely from USA
Reports to: Indirect Senior Tax Manager
Manage the coordination of sales & use tax returns with third party preparer to ensure accurate, quality and timely filed returns
Manage U.S. domestic indirect tax balance sheet accounts on our GL and prepare monthly close procedures, journal entry preparation and account reconciliations
Oversee U.S. domestic indirect tax notices
Manage U.S. domestic indirect tax audits
Supervise approval of customer tax exemption certificates as well as issuing exemptions to vendors
Manage taxability codes for new products and research taxability for new product offerings
Manage the business license process
Oversee preparation and filing with third party preparer of property tax returns and payments for multiple jurisdictions
Monitor and analyze changes in sales tax laws and regulations across the US and provide recommendations to address any potential impact
Supervise and provide training and guidance to two indirect tax team members in daily job responsibilities
Respond to questions and issues from business units and functional groups including the customer and the sales organization
Develop and maintain working relationships outside the finance organization
Assessing data and reporting needs and supporting Tax IT with requirements
Assisting with mergers onboarding and systems implementation and testing

What You Bring
Bachelor’s degree in business administration or Financial Accounting preferred
Certified Public Accountant (CPA) a plus
8+ years of relevant experience for all duties listed
Skilled knowledge of Vertex O-Series
Experience working with Microsoft D365 a plus
Must be a self-starter with a quick learner
Concern for quality and deadlines
Must demonstrate an ability to directly communicate clearly and effectively
Support process improvement and instituting quality control metrics
Superb attention to detail, strong planning and organization skills, and the ability to multi-task, prioritize and deliver in a fast-paced, dynamic environment

The Pay: Axon is a total compensation company, meaning compensation is made up of base pay, bonus, and stock awards. The starting base pay for this role is between USD 84,000 in the lowest geographic market and USD 150,000 in the highest geographic market. The actual base pay is dependent upon many factors, such as: level, function, training, transferable skills, work experience, business needs, geographic market, and often a combination of all these factors.
