Mechanical Engineer

The Mechanical Engineer is responsible for the identification, development and implementation of both equipment and process improvements within the Pennsylvania manufacturing facility. This role will assess equipment, interpret data and drive machine/equipment improvements to best serve business and operational needs. The individual will have a thorough understanding of all major aerosol components and high-speed manufacturing processes and has the ability to make sound technical decisions.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Participate and contribute in PSM activities: MOC, Hazard Review, PSSR, LOPA.
Manage and successfully complete capital expenditure projects annually within budget, on time and within defined specifications
Provide technical equipment support and troubleshooting; this includes high speed automatic aerosol manufacturing equipment as well as semi-automatic packaging liquid filling equipment, and warehouse storage and handling equipment.
Evaluate and determine courses of action (improvements, troubleshooting, modification) for aerosol equipment efficacy and performance.
Work closely with the maintenance supervisor to plan, budget, coordinate, and implement projects varying from large scale to daily needs.
Aid in the design and implementation of a preventative maintenance program; identifying key needs to pivot our equipment needs from reactive to preventative
High engagement with the production and warehouse environment, creating and maintaining positivity regarding improvement projects
Aid in the development of Standard Operating Procedures and Work Instructions for new and existing equipment or processes, particularly surrounding mechanically driven equipment.
Maintain thorough understanding and ownership of all mechanical equipment including: updating drawings, procedure updates, operator training, troubleshooting, process improvements, and mechanical integrity programs.
Maintain company expectations for Safety, Quality, Service Level, Sustainability, Integrity, and Respect in daily activities.
Other duties as necessary.
REQUIREMENTS:
Experience:
5 plus years’ experience in a highspeed manufacturing environment.
Aerosol manufacturing experience preferred.
Experience implementing small Capex projects a plus.
Hands-on experience and mechanical aptitude is required.
Allen Bradley or similar PLC programming knowledge a plus.
Education:
Mechanical Engineering Degree or Relevant experience
Skills:
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Project management: cost, time line, resourcing, etc. with the ability to oversee projects with a high level of attention to detail.
Ability to work with and obtain inputs from varying functions of the business & utilize in process planning (mechanics, line operators, managers, EH&S, etc.).
Ability to collaborate with various disciplines to achieve success in future growth opportunities.
Able to present designs, recommendations and concepts utilizing CAD and PowerPoint.
