To work as part of the Design team developing systems from conceptual ideas through drawing, justification to codes and standards, manufacturing, testing and support of field technicians.

external relations Job duties Work as part of the Design team developing pipeline intervention systems, isolations, test tools, and hot tapping machines from conceptual ideas through drawing, justification to codes and standards, manufacturing, testing, and support of field technicians.
Provide technical leadership of subsea BISEP plugging machines, hot tapping machines, and Plugging designs. Provide technical leadership on commercial and development of pipeline intervention projects which include BISEP plugging, isolation projects, and for weld test tools by taking technical responsibility and accountability.
Provide technical expertise on both downstream and upstream BISEP plugging intervention concepts.
Provide guidance and mentorship to other members of the Design team on pipeline isolation and intervention services including upstream and downstream, onshore, and offshore design application services.
Apply engineering principles, experience, and expertise on pipeline intervention and isolations to the design of machinery and equipment including pressure equipment, mechanical systems, hydraulics, and structural components. Based on a diverse range of existing technologies, lead colleagues to:
a. Ensure current isolation products are deployed appropriately and safely to suit client requirements.
b. Modify existing products to suit a tailored set of client pipeline isolation requirements.
c. Innovate new solutions for pipeline intervention to solve unique challenges a client may be experiencing.
Assist with the training and development of Design Engineers and Trainees on pipeline isolation and intervention equipment and services.
Maintain good working relationships internally with other departments and externally with clients.
Keep abreast of developments within the pipeline services industry and help to ensure STATS remains seen as a leader in the pipeline isolation and intervention services field.
Ensure engineering design packages are in full compliance with customers’ requirements and all relevant codes and standards and carry out final approval of design packages for pipeline intervention.
Produce conceptual designs for pipeline intervention parts and detailed engineering analysis using available methods.
Prepare design specifications for new products to meet client and pipeline plugging and intervention industry requirements.
Prepare assembly drawings, manufacturing drawings, and bills of materials.
Advise and instruct operations staff with respect to testing and assembly of pipeline intervention equipment.
Attend client meetings as required, identifying design engineering requirements and processes to meet client needs.
Adhere to project objectives, budget, schedules, and deadlines for different pipeline intervention services.
Individual Quality and Safety Responsibilities: To comply with STATS Integrated Management System when carrying out project engineering tasks
To comply with STATS and Client quality, safety and environmental management systems and procedures at all times
Ensure all accidents / incidents / near misses / hazards are immediately reported to the QHSE team

EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering and 3 years of work experience as a Mechanical/Design Engineer in pipeline isolation and intervention services.
Work experience to include work with pipeline isolation and intervention equipment including hot tapping and plugging machines for upstream and downstream, and onshore and offshore design application services.
Certifications in plugging, hot tapping, and Weld Test Tools.
