Your Career

This role is in the Event and Executive Briefing Program Strategy & Operations team and will be responsible for generating, rolling out and maintaining all Event Center of Excellence resources (focused primarily on Event Technologies) to enable scalable, repeatable and compliant event production across Palo Alto Networks.

This role is primarily focused as an Event Technologist, creating the technology strategy and providing technology solutions to support event objectives. In addition, this role may lead workstream/s for proprietary events as appropriate.

In this role, you will develop, lead and maintain the event Center of Excellence program and all associated deliverables. You have a strategic approach to managing programs for scalability and repeatability as well as developing processes.

This role is part project manager, part process excellence and part technologist and requires outstanding organizational and prioritization skills. Broad marketing and event management experience are expected, but this position requires specific skills, including deep technical knowledge of event platforms, registration tools, lead and contact flow as well as web, UTM and privacy requirements.

In addition, this role requires excellent project management, process and documentation development skills along with proven success with cross-functional work experience leading teams toward a project goal.

You are an experienced event/marketing professional with a proven track record of defining and delivering impactful tools, processes, resource kits, etc. The ideal candidate has an event marketing background, is a highly motivated, extremely organized individual with experience managing complex projects with multiple stakeholders across the globe. You will utilize your attention to detail, your experience in program and project management, and your excellent written communication skills to ensure high quality results.

We expect office-based employees to be in the office four days per week, with one day working from where they choose. We believe being together facilitates casual conversations and those magic moments where we can work on issues and ideas informally. These moments build capability and deepen trusted relationships and allow our people to feel safe in taking risks and being disruptive. Like so many companies, we are working through the details and things could change …. but in general if a role is deemed office-based we want our teams to be together four days per week.

Your Impact

Work closely with event leaders to understand key event challenges, technology and process gaps and inefficiencies with the aim of creating a roadmap to address them

Lead registration workstream (driving all dates and deliverables, ensuring process and technology support the business requirements)

Manage event technology vendors (such as registration, mobile app developers, meeting platform, etc.) including managing contracts and renewals, feature implementation, QBR process and adoption

Research, vet and onboard new tools, ensuring the event team is at the forefront of new offerings and resources

Lead the management of agency registration and technology engagement

Engage key stakeholders across the organization and the globe to curate best practices, understand needs/gaps, introduce processes/tools and gain alignment

Identify event ‘self-production’ needs and manage development process for all processes, kits, tools, resources and best practices - Internally identify the right partners to provide input and collaborate with on development

Hands-on, development and management of all Events Center of Excellence materials including tool kits, check lists, how-to’s, best practice documentation

Leverage and amplify Voice of the Customer through-out the global event community

Partner with Event, GTM and Marketing Operations teams to ensure consistent, scalable and connected process flows, tools and documentation

Qualifications

Your Experience

Strong 12+ years of marketing experience in the technology sector; event marketing or marketing operations experience required

Proven ability to ‘see into the future’ to avoid “gotchas” to advise, prepare and guide the entire event team in registration and experience set up

Deep event technology set-up and admin expertise (Cvent, Rainfocus, etc)

Understanding of of legal, regulatory and PII compliance requirements

Demonstrated experience in successfully working and influencing in a cross-functional and global role

Proven ability to collaborate and develop positive business relationships with all cross-functional peers, partners, and senior leaders (many of whom are geographically dispersed)

Knowledge of best practices in event marketing planning and execution

Experience in process improvement, process development and vendor management

Expert organizational, documentation, and communication skills (written, verbal, visual)

Strong project management skills

A passion for process, events, and customers and the drive to thrive in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment with agility and grace

SF Bay area candidates need to be in office 4 days a week.

The compensation offered for this position will depend on qualifications, experience, and work location. For candidates who receive an offer at the posted level, the starting base salary (for non-sales roles) or base salary + commission target (for sales/com-missioned roles) is expected to be between $122,400/yr to $198,000/yr.
