Job Summary:
The Network Engineer will be chiefly responsible for developing a new network from the ground up to support a special project. This encompasses a broad range of tasks, with a special emphasis on the design and implementation of a VPN as a key component of this new network. The role is hands-on and requires planning, execution, and management of the network infrastructure to support our changing business environment.
Essential Job Functions:
· Plan, design and implement a new network infrastructure for a special project.
· Design and implement a VPN as a critical element of the new network.
· Configure and manage VPN connections for security and efficiency.
· Identify requirements and set up necessary network configurations, including ports and endpoints.
· Ensure compliance to existing company design and security standards for networks.
· Manage and implement firewall modifications and enforce network security measures.
· Validate all network changes to ensure optimal performance and security.
· Develop and manage a comprehensive project plan for the network setup.
· Work collaboratively with internal staff and external vendors to align network architecture with business objectives.
· Provide technical support and expert advice on network-related issues.
Education / Experience:
· Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
· Minimum 5 years of experience in network engineering.
· Relevant certifications (e.g., CCNA, CCNP, CISSP) are preferred.
· This position requires use of information or access to hardware, which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
· Proficiency in Fortigate firewalls, F5 VPN hardware/software, Cisco switches, and multifactor authentication software.
· Strong knowledge of VPN technologies and network security.
· Proven experience in project planning and network infrastructure implementation.
