**Position Summary:**
Perform as a critical design team member in mechanical systems development and coordination for construction design projects. This position requires interaction with the firms project team members (designers and engineers from the electrical and technology systems disciplines), as well as architects, consultants, clients, and contractors to identify project requirements, develop engineering concepts, and present options and recommendations in order to meet the project requirements. Demonstrate a trustworthy presence through your professionalism, demeanor, and technical knowledge.
**What you will be doing:**
* Apply strong technical design skills and knowledge to produce accurate and timely project deliverables.
* Support project requirements with client interface, field investigation, basis of design narratives, development of mechanical construction design documents that comply with all applicable codes and standards, review submittals, and support the project through construction completion
* Design projects in Revit and AutoCAD for compliance with city, state, and national building codes, compliance with owner standards, and industry construction standards. (ASHRAE, NFPA, IBC, LEED, etc.)
* Provide design information and effectively delegate work to production support staff as applicable.
* Provide a leadership role to share your knowledge with other design staff.
* Meet with and interact with clients and project stakeholders.
* Communicate with manufacturers and contractors to stay abreast of the latest trends and mechanical/plumbing systems technology.
* Coordinate and perform construction administration tasks internally and externally, enabling a successful project outcome.
**What you will need:**
* Registered PE in the State of Arizona.
* Bachelors Degree from an ABET accredited engineering program (Architectural Engineering Degree preferred).
* A minimum of 10 years experience in mechanical engineering or designing.
* Experienced project manager.
* Experience with correctional facilities, biosafety, or animal care lab design a plus.
* Experience managing other production staff members.
* Excellent skills designing mechanical/plumbing systems. The following list are minimum knowledge and skills standards: Trane Trace load calculations, Basic HVAC system equipment layouts, Basic HVAC controls understanding, Basic plumbing system understanding of equipment and fixtures.
* Working knowledge of current versions of Revit and AutoCAD.
* Ability to apply logic, reasoning, and organizational skills to structure concepts and ideas into deliverables.
* Working knowledge of COMcheck, Excel, OneNote, Word, etc.
