Health and Safety Manager

We are currently seeking a Health and Safety Manager for a reputable Commercial General Construction company in the Dallas (DFW), TX area. The Health and Safety Manager will play a pivotal role in overseeing the company's safety program, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and fostering a culture of safety and accountability.
Responsibilities:
Conduct a thorough gap analysis of the safety program to identify areas for improvement
Develop and implement processes and procedures aimed at achieving zero accidents
Conduct regular inspections of construction sites to identify and mitigate potential hazards
Collaborate with field personnel to provide training and education on safety procedures
Design and deliver training programs for both existing and new safety policies and procedures
Investigate accidents and near misses to determine root causes and implement necessary changes to prevent recurrence
Prepare, review, and update project-specific safety plans and job hazard analyses as required
Ensure the accuracy and completeness of accident reports and investigations
Act as an advocate for the company's safety program, promoting safety as a core value of the organization
Provide regular reports to management as needed
Perform any additional duties or responsibilities as directed
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in safety management, construction management, or related field OR Construction Health and Safety Technician (CHST) or Occupational Health and Safety Technician (OHST) designation
Minimum of 5 years of experience in construction safety
Minimum of 5 years of experience in safety program development and training
OSHA 500/OSHA 30 certification
In-depth knowledge of OSHA Construction Standards CFR 1926, General Industry Standards CFR 1910, and best management practices
Familiarity with typical construction processes
Proficiency in computer skills, including Viewpoint, SharePoint, and MS Office
Strong technical writing skills for developing policies, procedures, and training materials
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for long periods of time
Capability to walk job sites, climb stairs and/or ladders, and withstand extreme weather conditions
Reliable transportation
Must be local to the Dallas (DFW), TX area
Must be authorized to work for any US employer without sponsorship
Benefits:
Annual salary range $80,000 to $90,000
