We are seeking a highly experienced, goal-oriented self-starter to become an integral part of our team and be responsible for the Louisiana and Texas operations! Our areas of operations include: Commerical, Industrial, Educational, Healthcare, Civil and Heavy construction. We have been in business for 37+ years and have offices in New Orleans, LA and Houston, TX.
Great opportunity for retired or semi-retired professional with proven track record of operating or leading a successful construction entity or division.
Primary Responsibilities:
Oversees operational business activities, such as productivity, costs, quality, personnel and safety consistent with company policies and practices.
Identify and pursue growth opportunities such as new customers, markets and scopes of work to ultimately increase company for revenue and profitability.
Oversees the bidding process including the attendance pre-bid meetings and the reviewing of prepared bids and submittals.
Manage and improve procurement practices and allocate resources to meet project deadlines.
Provides guidance to key personnel.
Reviews and analyzes performance, costs, and operations to maintain progress toward the achievement of goals and objectives.
Track and forecast operational trends and analysis and provide daily operations oversight for outside teams.
Formalize policies and procedures in accordance with HR regulations.
Performs special projects and completes all other duties as assigned or requested for the general support of the organization.
Required Education, Experience and Qualifications
Degree in Architecture, relevant Engineering field and/or Business or Construction Management with no less than 15 years after graduation experience in the Construction industry.
Strong project management skills (PMP Preferred).
Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills.
The ability to read and analyze financial statements such as P & L’s and key financial indicator reports.
Strong leadership skills with the ability to maintain high-quality standards.
Advanced written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills to effectively work with all levels of the organization, as well as customers and subcontractors.
Extensive knowledge of safety and relevant OSHA requirements and regulations.
Versed in the industry and the Company’s areas of expertise.
Ability to travel and work for extended periods of time on assignments outside home base area.
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Project, and Outlook).
