Cloud Engineer

Soni Resources' client is searching for a skilled and experienced Cloud Engineer to join their growing IT team! This critical role plays a key part in maintaining the firm's cloud-based systems. You will be responsible for ensuring the configuration, security, stability, and performance of the company's virtual compute environment. This includes regular patching, updates, and proactive maintenance to keep their systems running smoothly.
Responsibilities:
Develop and implement a robust patch management strategy for virtual servers
Perform system updates and patches following best practices and compliance requirements
Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and minimize downtime
Collaborate with the cybersecurity team to identify and address security threats
Work with IT operations to ensure effective backup and disaster recovery processes
Provide technical guidance for deploying new cloud applications and services
Document maintenance activities, patches applied, and system configuration changes
Participate in an on-call rotation for critical issue support
Stay updated on emerging cloud technologies to continually improve our infrastructure
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
Proven experience as a Cloud Engineer or similar role with a focus on compute maintenance and patch management
Strong understanding of cloud service providers like Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud Platform
Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure
Experience with Windows Server and Linux environments
Experience with automation tools and scripting languages (PowerShell, Python, Bash)
Familiarity with server virtualization, containerization technologies, and Infrastructure/Configuration as Code
Solid understanding of networking, security, and database management
Strong interpersonal and communication skills for collaboration with team members and stakeholders
Relevant certifications (e.g., Microsoft Azure Administrator Associate, AWS Certified Solutions Architect) are a plus
