Sales Manager - Electrical Distribution

Job Summary: A Sales Manager (SMED) must be highly familiar with the distributors and OEM opportunities in each of their states. Whether earning sales through a Manufacturer’s Rep group or on their own, the RSM is responsible to meet and exceed all sales goals by developing relationships, overcoming objections, proving product authority, and closing sales.

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

Be confident, prepared, and competitive in regard to sales approach.

Effectively communicate upward, downward, and sideways.

Authority on product knowledge and usage understanding.

Sell our product, services, and value to the customer.

Create sales promotions and pricing strategies.

Work both independently and within a team structure when situation warrants.

Meet and or exceed annual sales goals and growth initiatives.

Maintain and grow partnerships with the Rep groups that we work within the territory.

Hire and manage sales rep groups within open territories.

Manage all customers listed within the territory.

Travel to customers and prospects both independently and with Rep group present.

Approximately 50% travel time within region.

Provide regional information in regard to market intelligence (Price, Competition, Programs).

Adhere to all Halex and Marmon policies and procedures.

Manage and maintain current and accurate records.

Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent knowledge and work experience in Electrical Distribution or OEM Channel.

At least 3 years of experience in Electrical Distribution Channel.

At least 2 years of experience managing manufacturer rep groups.

Understanding of electrical fittings, connectors and electrical components preferred.

Committed to completing an objective/goal and achieving an excellent result.

Independent thinker that is both proactive and intuitive.

Demonstrates the capacity to adapt and relate to all types of people.

Articulates ideas as well as listens effectively.

Thinks strategically, with an ability to think about long-term implications.

Computer proficient (Windows, MS Office, CRM, and ERP systems).

Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with all company personnel.
