Primary Purpose:
The goal of the Parts Clerk is to assist the Operation Manager in the ordering, stocking, issuing and inventorying of all parts for school district vehicles.
Qualifications:
Education/Certification:
High School Diploma GED preferred. Possess or obtain a class B CDL with "P" & "S" endorsements; have or be eligible for state certification as a school bus driver.
Special Knowledge Skills: Knowledge of vehicle parts, computer skills.
Major Responsibilities and Duties:
To accomplish this goal, the Parts Clerk will:
To Assists in ordering parts for stock and immediate repair for district vehicles.
Issues parts, as requested to mechanics.
Records work orders of repairs as submitted by mechanics.
Transfer fuel records from daily printouts to vehicle records.
Assists in generation of monthly trip and vehicle maintenance/repair charges.
Research trip information for monthly contract charges.
Assists in maintaining accurate part inventory
Stock shelves and insures that frequently used stock is not depleted.
Maintains cleanliness of parts area.
Drives a school bus route as needed.
Secure all needed supplies in the upholstery, glass, and the tire shop of the Transportation department.
Procure and maintain all special tools needed.
Assists in scheduling trip data of district pool vehicles.
Assist in keeping accurate department files.
Assist in ordering/purchasing department office supplies.
Inspects exterior/interior of district pool vehicles.
Any other duties as assigned by immediate supervisor.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Manage students while driving a bus.
Working Conditions:
Must work on slippery/uneven surfaces, work with cleaning solvents, as well as body fluids when the situation presents itself. Must be able to handle extreme weather conditions.
Mental Demands/Physical Demands/Environmental Factors:
Maintain emotional control under stress. Frequent districtwide and statewide travel; occasional prolonged or irregular hours.
