The ideal candidate will have a high standard of patient care, flexibility, good communication skills and demonstrated experience in the following:
Exam Room Consults
Surgical Assists
Active knowledge of preventative meds & vaccines
Venipunctures
Cytology i.e., Rectal Smear; Ear Swab; Impression Smears, Skin Scrapes
Routine Procedures and Treatments
Medication Dispensation
Client/Owner Relations & Education
Requirements Highschool Diploma or equivalent
2 years of recent vet tech experience with increasing responsibilities.
Ability to perform routine medical procedures (e.g., collect samples, draw blood, administer vaccines)
Ability to maintain clear and accurate records.
Ability to properly restrain patients.
Knowledge of commonly used veterinary medical terminology and procedures.
Ability to complete assigned tasks in the time allotted without direct supervision.
Demonstrated ability to show empathy, respect, and compassion toward clients and patients.
Excellent interpersonal communication skills.
Ability to lift objects weighing 40 pounds without assistance and objects more than 40 pounds w/ assistance.
Bilingual - Spanish is a plus.
Must be able to withstand unpleasant odors and noises.
May be exposed to bites, scratches, animal waste, and contagious diseases.
