SUMMARY
The Director of Operations reports to the Sr. Director of Operations andis responsible for managing our global warehousing operations and logisticsteams.
This position is based at in San Antonio, Texas atthe company’s Global Operations and Training Facility.
DUTIES
· Oversee operations and logistics functions forour global warehouses ensuring all activities are running in a smooth andeffective manner. Recommends andimplements processes and procedures to streamline workflow.
· Leads and directs supervisors and managersensuring the needs of customers are being met. Direct responsibility forpersonnel actions including hiring, performance management, and termination.
· Support warehouse management teams inplanning, monitoring, and analyzing key operational metrics for day-to-dayoperations ensuring efficient and daily completion of tasks.
· Contributes to strategic planning, direction,and goal setting for our global warehouse locations and collaborates withsenior management on space and facility needs.
Responsiblefor Operations budget and overall P&L.
· Implement Lean Manufacturing, 5S and Six Sigma principlesthroughout global warehouse locations.
· Develop and implement global workplace safety policies andprocedures in accordance with OSHA and local municipality / countryrequirements and standards.
Identify relevant continuousimprovement needs and support the development of continuous improvementtraining for all warehouse employees and locations.
· Maintainaccurate inventory levels across all warehouse locations and support daily, monthlyand end of year inventory cycle counts across all warehouse locations.
Direct, motivate, develop andcoach inbound logistics team to meet customer service and team objectives.
Establish and maintainrelationships with ocean, freight and domestic carriers for allinternational and domestic transportation.
Participate in carrier managementprocesses including selection, qualification, negotiation and performanceevaluation.
· Assistwith all ISO9001 & ISO14001 compliance activities as needed.
· Otherduties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS
· Bachelor’sdegree or equivalent experience.
· 10+ years’experience in managing multiple facilities and large teams.
· Superiorcommunication skills to deal with customers, employees, carriers, and executivemanagement.
· Strongknowledge of data analysis and performance / operations metrics.
· Ability tolift items / packages (up to 45 lbs. / 15 kg).
· Bilingual:English and Spanish is a plus
