In the U.S., 60% of adult immigrants without a postsecondary degree are English language learners. The recent influx of immigrants, refugees, and internationally trained professionals entering the country has resulted in the demand for English language classes far exceeding the supply of available classroom seats.
Pace AI is our answer to this call. We are building the only AI made just for ESL learners, to help schools and teachers serve more students more effectively.
We’re a small team of certified English language teachers and AI research scientists/engineers. You’ll tackle problems that are not only intellectually challenging—working with advances in AI/LLMs and building products from 0 to 1—but also make a significant impact on ESL teachers and students. ️ What You’ll Work On
As a Senior Full Stack Engineer, You’ll Work With Product To Own Several High-visibility Projects Across Our Entire Tech Stack. Examples Of Projects Include
Personalizing content and lessons to different student levels
Developing new AI features for English language practice

You Might Be a Good Fit If You Have
5+ years of full stack experience
Fluency with Python and TypeScript, with the ability to pick up other languages as necessary.
Knowledge of data structures and algorithms.
An understanding of relational databases and schema design.
Previous experience with web development.
[BONUS] Solid understanding of, and experience with, modern AI/LLMs models and architectures (e.g., GPT, LLAMA, RAG) as well as basic exposure to classic ML models.
Your location
You must be physically based in the U.S.
