Associate Attorney
Indianapolis, IN, United States
Job Description Job Description Location: Mott, North Dakota
Open to having a relocation assistance discussion and open to recent law graduates.
We are a two-man firm located in Mott, North Dakota. We are seeking a lawyer with a pioneer spirit who desires to live and move and have his or her being on the High Plains and become our worthy successor in the practice of law. Whether you are an experienced attorney or a recent or soon-to-be graduate, this will be an opportunity to merge into an established practice and enjoy the amenities of rural life. Our practice emphasizes real estate transactions and title work, agricultural law, oil and gas, probate, estate planning, and business organization, as well as civil and criminal litigation.
David Crane is a third-generation lawyer from Mott. His grandfather, Van H. Crane, a pioneer lawyer, founded the practice in 1910. His father, Charles Crane, partnered with Van after serving in World War Two. David joined his father in 1982 and developed a transactional practice centered on real estate, taxation, estate planning, financial planning, and business formation. He earned his Certified Financial Planner mark in 1996. Although he no longer prepares tax returns and maintains his CFP and securities licenses, he can help you pursue a practice in those areas as well.
Pat J. Merriman is from Missouri, born and bred. Most of his legal career was spent in Missouri where he conducted over 300 jury trials, and 7,000 criminal prosecutions and accumulated 32 years of civil experience. There are very few lawyers in this region with as much litigation experience. In his career, he has prosecuted successfully many high-profile cases, including a death penalty case. His opposition includes some nationally famous jurists. Pat will be able to mentor you in all matters litigious. He is well-versed in real estate law.
