Tracking Code 7553 Job Description Boston University Medical Campus IT - Educational Media seeks a top-tier audio/visual and instructional technology professional to join its excellent team. This is an evening role with standard working hours 1pm-9:30pm servicing clients in classrooms and event spaces with both audio/visual system and educational technology support needs. (Fridays often present an option to flex hours to 9:30am-6pm or 8:30am-5pm if there are no evening classes or events.)
Operate, maintain, problem-solve and provide tech support for classroom technology systems and services. Serve on multiple project teams in a variety of roles such as Project Coordinator, Project Lead, Technical Lead or Client Lead, for events in need of long-term planning as well as longitudinal projects. Focus is on consistently providing outstanding support for our diverse client community of faculty, staff, and students. At times this position may entail being on call and/or supporting a few weekend events a year, as well as flexibility to change hours as client needs dictate.
Day-to-day duties include:
* Provide in-person and remote service and support for live classroom and event presentation as well as webinar/web-meeting/streaming formats
* Deliver training and consultation for clients as they continuously adopt new technology tools for live and remote presentations.
* Offer wide, broad-reaching service to clients across Boston University Schools of: Medicine, Public Health, and Dental Medicine in centrally scheduled classroom and event spaces.
* Identify emerging technology that may improve instructional and learning experiences, share with management to settle on which products to explore/demo further, and work with the rest of the team on testing and verification of solutions.
The BUMC IT - Educational Media department falls under Boston University's Information Services and Technology group and collaborates with colleagues on the Charles River Campus in several centralized departments. Required Skills
* Bachelor's Degree and 5-8 years of relevant experience required.
* Experience in Higher Education service-related positions a plus.
* Experience supporting clients from all levels of an organization.
* Ability to efficiently juggle multiple projects and reprioritize tasks throughout the day as urgent client needs emerge.
* Strong oral and written communication skills
* Strong analytical and decision-making skills
* Flexibility to switch hours to provide client coverage for earlier/later events
* Availability to occasionally work a weekend event and/or be on call via phone
