Project Engineer - Civil/Environmental

Weston & Sampson is currently seeking a Project Civil/Environmental Engineer with 4-8 years of relevant experience for our Reading MA office. The candidate will be well-rounded engineer capable of working on a variety of often multi-disciplinary civil and environmental engineering projects.
What you’ll do:
Work closely with our project managers and civil/environmental professionals on a variety of civil and environmental engineering and construction assignments. Typical projects include site assessment and remediation, landfill capping and closure, solid waste facility permitting and design, building abatement/demolition, underground storage tank removal/replacement, site/civil/stormwater design, and renewable energy facility design. Help supervise and coordinate project teams to perform engineering studies and designs using recognized industry standards and regulatory-compliant approaches.
Coordinate staff performing environmental assessment, remedial oversight, and construction monitoring activities, on MCP cleanup sites and redevelopment projects.
Review, manage and process construction-phase documentation including submittals, change order requests, and pay applications in coordination with project team.
Prepare reports and technical memoranda for a variety of environmental projects including environmental assessment, MCP compliance, solid waste permitting, feasibility studies, and engineering design reports.
Coordinate task scheduling and design deliverables across a variety of environmental and engineering disciplines on multi-disciplinary design and construction projects.
Prepare engineering design documents including plans, details, specifications, and cost estimates for bidding purposes.
Taking ownership of tasks and working collaboratively to achieve client objectives and project goals.
Help develop and define project scope, schedule, and budget; determine work procedures, staffing, and sub-consultant assignments.
Project monitoring and management of schedules.
What you will bring:
Bachelor’s degree in civil/environmental engineering or related field.
PE license or be on track to obtai
Ability to manage the workload demands of diverse projects and track and achieve regulatory and construction deadlines.
Experience delegating and mentoring, following-up, and working across disciplines on complex projects.
Working knowledge of civil/environmental design tools including AutoCAD, GIS, HydroCAD, and HELP model.
Experience overseeing field services (e.g., construction observation, soils logging, drilling oversight, monitoring well installation and sampling) a requirement.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
