Duties and Responsibilities: Design and development of wearable products from initial concept through ongoing product support
Develop embedded firmware and software to support system functionality
Capable of design, layout, and modeling of assemblies (PCBAs, Cables, etc.)
Develop and assemble non-functional and functional prototypes of systems and sub-systems
Analyze product requirements, and plan and estimate development activities
Develop clear and concise electronics design specifications to meet requirements
Develop innovative solutions to satisfy the challenging requirements for wearable products
Develop and execute test plans for unit testing; and work closely with the system test team to ensure the delivery of high-quality design
Interact with team members from other disciplines to complete project deliverables, solve problems and to report status
Support fielded products, and perform analysis of field-reported issues
Functional Skills/Knowledge: Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision or guidance
Proven ability to drive innovation in the engineering conceptualization stages by pushing technology limits while balancing feasibility criteria such as manufacturability, cost, technology risk, implementation schedule
Solid analytical skills with a strong attention to detail
Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) along with good sound interpersonal skills
Education and Experience: BS or MS in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent)
Minimum of 7+ years’ experience in an Electrical Engineering role involving the design and development of embedded firmware and software
Experience in embedded C firmware. Atmel microcontroller experience is a plus
Experience in electrical design including component selection, system architecture and documentation
Experience with mixed-signal design, battery management, sensors, microcontrollers, USB and RF circuits
Experience in ATAK environment and/or Android software development is a plus.
Experience with Altium PCB design software is preferred
Previous industry experience working for a company or a consultant company in the military, medical, wearables or biomedical goods space is highly desirable
