You will be responsible for the development, execution, and enforcement of Health and Safety Programs on Dennis Group managed project sites. Specific duties performed and areas of responsibilities include:
*Developing and Executing Health and Safety Plans:*
* Develop and execute health and safety plans according to applicable legal guidelines and/or OSHA regulations, as well as, client safety and health requirements
* Provide training on all aspect of construction hazards (fall prevention, PPE, equipment conditions, etc.)
* Conduct trainings and presentations for health and safety matters and accident prevention
* Investigate accidents and prepare all relative paperwork/forms for workers compensation and/or OSHA
* Develop corrective action plans and lessons learned
* Complete required documentation for OSHA, clients, or other reporting agencies
* Maintain complete and organized files
* Lead safety and health committees and meetings
*Preparing and Enforcing Policies:*
* Establish a culture of health and safety by preparing and enforcing policies
* Work with Construction Managers to establish jobsite specific safety policies and procedures during initial project mobilization and conduct regular job site safety inspections
* Conduct routine audits and inspections of jobsite and equipment
* Correct unsafe working conditions by inspecting equipment and jobsite setup
* Provide Corrective Action Notices to individuals that do not adhere to our safety program to assure full understanding safety importance
*Evaluating Practices & Procedures:*
* Evaluate and update safety practices and procedures to adherence to changing legal and OSHA requirements
* Conduct special studies and investigations related to health and safety matters for the company
* Recommend solutions to issues, improvement opportunities or new prevention measures
**About You**
*Education/Knowledge:*
* Bachelor's degree in health and safety, risk management, occupational safety or construction is strongly preferred
* OSHA 30 or OSHA 500 Certified, required
*Experience:*
* Established record of successfully managing multiple and conflicting priorities across various jobsites
* 3+ years experience in safety management (required), construction, or manufacturing sector
* 3+ years' experience overseeing safety practices of sub-contractors (skill trades and MEP workers)
* Equivalent education, training and/or related work experience
*Skills:*
* Strong verbal and written communication skills
* Ability to produce reports and develop relevant policies
* Deep understanding/knowledge of safety/OSHA practices
* Working knowledge of construction tools/equipment is required for position
* Outstanding attention to detail and observation skills
* Strong computer skills and working knowledge of safety and health software and/or learning management software
* Ability to safely, legally, and consistently, operate an automobile for traveling to/from all jobsites
*Travel:*
* Flexibility and comfort with extensive overnight travel (75%) to client jobsites. **The safety manager can be base out of their home and be expected to travel to jobsites regionally and nationally.
