**Description**
**POSITION SUMMARY**
This position is responsible for assisting and advising the organization with understanding requirements and implementation of programs to maintain regulatory compliance. The position also must identify trends in EHS performance and create interventions to improve.
**ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS**
* Clarifying regulatory issues
* Advising managers on EHS matters
* Assisting with incident investigations
* Researching different resources for problem solving
* Interaction with physicians on injury cases
* Maintaining Third Party Contractor Management database
* Customer safety meetings & site visits
* Announced & Unannounced visits
* Lead EHS audits
* Meeting with managers and employees
* Initiate program improvements
* Attend committee meetings
* Work with management to identify resources required to meet agreed upon goals for performance improvement
* Identify trends, looking for internal and external best practices
* Creating & implementing programs for EHS performance improvement
* Work with vendors/consultants as needed
* Identify regulations applicable to business- keep current with regulations
* Implement programs to ensure compliance and correct deficiencies
* Audit or assess program effectiveness for compliance
* Create and submit regulatory required reports
* Monthly EHS performance reports for lagging and leading indicators
* Routine progress reports on program improvement initiatives
* Mentoring for both soft and hard skills
* Annual performance evaluations and routine feedback
* Identify incident trends and create programs with operations leadership that improve performance, reduce hazards and/or risk in a cost-effective manner. Understanding how regulations apply, then creating programs or training and work with EHS and operational leadership to enable compliance. Identifying training and mentoring solutions to develop the skills of the EHS staff.
**QUALIFICATIONS**
High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) and four to ten years related experience required. Bachelor's Degree preferred.
