Summary of Position
The Marketing Specialist provides project management and coordinating support for the Marketing Department which supports organization-wide goals and specific departments including the Technology Learning Center, Technology Services and Consulting, Workforce Programs, Events and Development. In this role, you will interact and collaborate with many internal teams as external members of our community. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Manage organization wide content calendar including email, social, and blog posting o Draft email communications that align with the month’s theme and pull relevant services and resources to promote o Draft social posts that align with email and blog posting as well as researching and posting relevant sector topics, events, and holidays o Work with internal Subject Matter Experts to write weekly blog content o Work with internal teams to identify clients and community members to draft Stories of Impact case studies
Create graphics, templates, and collateral design that comply and follow brand guidelines o Manage regular cadence of updating collateral and auditing website, resources, and postings for needed updates
Maintain and manage Tech Impact’s website o Make content edits and changes as needed o Understand basic SEO, analytics, and traffic data and adjust website accordingly
Work with internal and external Subject Matter Experts to brainstorm, write, and project manage written resources, articles, and downloads
Support Events Team with management and coordination of major annual events
Support Director of Marketing with organization-wide marketing goal planning Helpful Skills, Experiences, and Qualities
2+ years of administrative or marketing and communications experience, ideally supporting a training program.
Enthusiasm for Tech Impact’s mission and the nonprofit sector, curiosity, and a growth mindset.
Working knowledge of how nonprofits operate and sector vocabulary.
Experience with or ability to quickly grasp the technical aspects of a webinar platform, database, broadcast email system, web forms, learning management system, graphic design, and other web-based technologies. Tech Impact currently uses Canva, Zoom, Zapier, Stripe, WordPress, Wisehive/Zengine, Survey Monkey, Tovuti, and HubSpot.
Advanced PowerPoint skills, and strong skills with word processing, spreadsheets, email, and calendar applications are required.
Social media experience representing an organization.
Project management skills, including the ability to coordinate the details of simultaneous projects involving multiple internal and external people to keep things on schedule.
Interpersonal skills, including the ability to find a positive and professional resolution to complaints or technical glitches, respond with a sense of urgency, respect others’ time, and politely yet firmly advocate for the needs of the customer. Confidence and poise necessary to interact with experts and executives by phone, videoconference, and in person.
Ability to present technical information in writing in an organized and easy-tounderstand way.
Broad knowledge of software and computer technology preferred especially familiarity with the technology used in small nonprofit organizations.
Experience working as part of a virtual team and collaborating via chat and video conference.
If you are not located near one of Tech Impact’s office locations, you are expected to provide your own workspace and internet. Tech Impact will provide you with a computer, headset for use with our virtual phone system, and basic office supplies.
A college degree or equivalent general knowledge and experience
