Job description
SUMMARY OF POSITION: The Equipment Technician is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing the extruders.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Equipment Management
Examines and troubleshoot extruder when an issue has occurred
Maintains extruders Cleans, lubricates, or adjusts parts, equipment, or machinery
Disassembles machinery or equipment to remove parts and make repairs
Reassembles equipment after completion of inspections, testing, or repairs
Builds necessary parts for all related machinery by collaborating with coworkers on welding, fabricating, and CNC machining
Repairs or replaces malfunctioning components in the organizations machinery to ensure quality
Works closely with Team Leads and Production Supervisors to assess current malfunction in the extruder
Adjusts or align machine parts when necessary
Observes organization machinery to detect which individual piece is malfunctioning
Operates the forklift or sky jack to move machinery from Production to Technical Services
Uses a variety of power and hand tools to perform the job functions
Complete required training for new software and operations
Be able to perform basic repairs on all related machinery when coworkers are unavailable/ absent

Ensures the Technical Services Department is clean and free of debris using the LEAN method to comply with safety regulations
Records parts or materials used and order or requisition new parts or materials, as necessary
Reads and interprets safety rules, parts schematics, operating instructions, and work orders

Educational
High school diploma or equivalent GED
Basic understanding of mechanical and electrical processes
Formal mechanical and electrical education
Operation of standard manufacturing tools found in maintenance departments
Operation of manufacturing tools related to the punch press
o Bore Gauge
o Micrometer
o Caliper
Technical Competencies
Basic computer skills, used for:
o Ordering parts – various systems
o Locating digital schematics – various systems
o Intermediate computer skills – email, conduct online research, and creating and updating documents in Word and Excel
o CNC software - Autocade
Basic pallet labeler – index
Basic Quality assurance files – DWG true view
Personal protective equipment (PPE) knowledge and usage

Pay: $25.00 - $38.50 per hour
