Our nationally recognized company, headquartered in Houston, TX, is a leading full-service EPC, specialty engineering, procurement, construction, and testing and commissioning company specializing in complex medium and high voltage electrical infrastructure projects across North America. We are currently seeking a proactive and dedicated individual for the position of Construction Superintendent.
Electrical Construction Superintendent Job Summary:
As a Construction Superintendent, you will play a crucial role in overseeing, training, and supporting electrical construction leads and technicians. This role involves managing all aspects of field service work, including customer communication, sales, job estimating, proposals, scheduling, reports, and billing.
Electrical Construction Superintendent Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with management to develop training programs, career paths, and succession planning for the team.
- Supervise and manage large teams of technicians effectively
- Develop work plans for the execution of construction projects in alignment with standards, scopes of work, and customer requirements
- Direct electrical substation project installations
- Ensure timely delivery of customer deliverables, including project reports and billing information
- Actively engage in customer communication and business development activities.
- Analyze projects to identify areas for improving efficiencies and profitability while meeting customer expectations
- Plan and participate in safety meetings, training, and audits
- Support management in planning, scheduling, executing, and cost management of field projects, aligning with organizational goals and objectives
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's or Associates Degree in electrical engineering, electrical engineering technology preferred, or equivalent work/military experience
- Minimum of 5 years of supervisory or project management experience
- Experience presenting project information and outcomes to customers and company leadership
Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities:
- Familiarity with NFPA and OSHA compliance standards, federal, state, and local safety laws, and DOT rules and regulations
- Extensive knowledge of the installation, configuration, and wiring of various switchgear and equipment
- Ability to diagnose mechanical and electrical problems
- Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently with excellent judgment
- Attention to detail and the ability to supervise large-scale projects
- Strong multitasking and prioritization skills to work effectively under pressure and meet goals and deadlines
- Intermediate level computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite
