Director of IT Operations Oregon, Washington, Idaho, Utah As the Director of IT Operations, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing and advancing our IT infrastructure across multiple locations. You will lead a team of 75+ working in a hybrid model with Cloud, SaaS, and On Prem technology. Infrastructure as Code and automation will be key in how you modernize environments. Your strategic thinking, exceptional leadership skills, and in-depth knowledge of IT operations will be key in ensuring the reliability, security, and efficiency of our critical systems. Creates and implements a 6 – 18 month strategic plan based on changes in the industry, regular feedback from the teams they manage, and the internal customers they serve.
Manages budgeting, contracts, vendor negotiation, licensing, etc.
Manages tough conversations successfully, readily accepts feedback, and enables open and honest communication.
Sets priorities based on what is most important to the business. Anticipates business needs.
Holds direct reports accountable for achieving the goals and meeting performance objectives.
Calm under pressure. Manages corporate politics. Builds relationships across the entire organization.
Sets an example of accountability for all associates by following policies, standards, and procedures. Walks talk.
Knows the difference between applying the “letter” of a policy to every situation versus the “intent” of a policy. Identifies ineffective policies, standards, or procedures and works with others to make improvements.
Organizes and motivates teams in multiple locations across Cambia to deliver high-quality, high-availability services.
Participates in the formulation of the company business system architecture plans, assessing cost and feasibility of system requests and ensuring the plan supports both strategic and near-term needs.
Minimum Requirements Proven experience running a successful IT Service Organization. Expert in establishing, updating, and delivering on SLAs.
Logical, fact-based decision-making. Understands the difference between Important and Urgent.
10+ years in management of business or technology organizations (or other demonstrated experience) with demonstrated competency in strategic thinking and leadership with strong abilities in relationship management.
Excellent written and verbal communications skills and the ability to interact with a variety of customers and stakeholders.
Thorough knowledge of general principles of finance, budget, project management and systems development lifecycle.
Demonstrated leadership of multi-discipline, high performance work teams/groups and an established track record of managing technical staff through the project development life-cycle phases.
Has functional knowledge of Information Security (terms, common threats, best practices, etc).
Has a general understanding of application development and the support development teams needs from infrastructure.
Has strong understanding of Disaster Recover and Business Continuity.
Understands the complexity of hybrid environments, blending core applications running on premise with steadily increasing SaaS and Cloud Based development. Can demonstrate success in implementing large programs, organization changes, and/or merger and acquisition events.
Understands the current and future capabilities of Information Technology. Uses this knowledge to support the business in achieving its short- and long-term goals.
FTEs Supervised 5-10 directs, 75+ full span of control The expected hiring range for a Director of IT Operations is $172,000-$233,000 depending on skills, experience, education, and training; relevant licensure / certifications; performance history; and work location. The bonus target for this position is 25% . The current full salary range for this role is $162,000-$263,500. Base pay is just part of the compensation package at Cambia that is supplemented with an exceptional 401(k) match, bonus opportunity and other benefits.
