Data Management Analyst

The Data Management Analyst is responsible for the management of study data in accordance with study protocols and the requirements of the College of Nursing Office of Research. Under the direction of the Associate Dean for Research, the Data Management Analyst will be responsible for all data management and manipulation, editing, and distribution for departmental studies.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
Data Management and Analysis:
Manage and maintain Office of Research study databases and participate in research team meetings related to data collection and statistical methods.
Generate data reports, interim reporting, and perform other data functions.
Design, program and maintain databases in SAS, STATA, and SPSS.
Construct and implement data sharing and management plans.
Design and program case report forms as needed.
Write data entry programs, scan data into a centralized data base and perform audits of study data entry.
Prepare and design database queries and generate reports as requested by Project Directors, lead Biostatisticians, and Project Investigators.
Monitor participant status and accrual. Also monitor data flow within the field site. Make recommendations to improve efficiency.
Perform data backups on project software/computers.
Use statistical software to clean and manipulate datasets.
File forms and make charts.
Coordinate with OSU CCTS and the investigators in REDCap database design and management.
Additional duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Bachelor's degree in data science, statistics or related fields and a minimum of 2 years related experience required. Master's degree preferred
Strong interpersonal skills and communication skills, working effectively with a variety of staff and managers required. Must be familiar with descriptive statistics. Knowledge in statistical inference associated with contingency tables, t-tests, analysis of variance and regression models is desirable.
Data management experience in clinical trials, NIH or other research settings highly desirable.
Good communication, time management, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Previous experience with analysis of health care and social science data highly desirable.
Demonstrated communication and reports preparation skills required.
