Job Summary: The Manager, Technical Systems Infrastructure oversees and implements enterprise-wide effectiveness and efficiency of the data center technology infrastructure including Compute, Storage, Backup & Recovery, SAN fabric, and End-User computing platforms. This role manages multiple teams of engineers and administrators within their department.
Minimum Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Computer Science, or related field. Eight years of enterprise-level experience, in lieu of Bachelor’s degree may be considered.
Licensure, Registration and/or Certification : VMware, Microsoft, or similar certification, preferred.
Work Experience: Minimum 5 years of related experience in an enterprise IT setting. Experience within a healthcare environment, preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Working knowledge and proficiencies with enterprise products and technologies, including data networks, servers, virtualization, storage area networks, storage arrays and methodologies, database administration, data backup systems, EUC delivery platforms, and related hardware and software. Knowledge of information technology change control management. Excellent technical/non-technical oral and written communication skills. Strong analytical ability to solve both business and technical problems with strong attention to detail. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple priorities with competing deadlines. Ability to make complex technology issues understandable to others.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities: Develops and executes a comprehensive IT infrastructure strategy aligned with the company's objectives, ensuring scalability, reliability, and security. Assesses current infrastructure and identifies areas for improvement, growth, and cost optimization. Manages day-to-day IT operations of the data-center infrastructure environments. Ensure all proposed changes to IT systems are thoroughly reviewed, approved, implemented, and documented in accordance with established change control procedures. Oversees the design, approval, and implementation of technical projects within the data-center infrastructure environment including disaster recovery planning and testing. Evaluates and implements technologies that improve efficiency, performance, and reliability. Ensures full compliance of enterprise standards and applicable federal/state regulations. Supports department staff with work assignments, deliverables, and objectives. Manages IT staffing, including recruitment, supervision, scheduling, development, evaluation, and disciplinary actions. Reviews, coordinates, and establishes vendor/consultant contracts and service agreements. Assists in development of capital and operational budget for department.
Decision Making: The carrying out of non-routine procedures under constantly changing conditions, in conformance with general instructions from a supervisor.
Working Relationships: Direct supervision of others. Prepares and gives performance evaluations. Works with internal and/or external customers via telephone or face-to-face interaction. Works with other healthcare professionals and staff. Works frequently with individuals at Director level and above.
