Project Engineer/Geologist

Position Overview:
The preferred candidate for this role should be a civil/environmental engineer or geologist with expertise and a readiness to apply knowledge across various environmental projects. These projects encompass Phase I and Phase II Environmental Site Assessments (ESAs), vapor intrusion assessment and mitigation, environmental restoration/resiliency, stormwater management, and all stages of environmental remediation, including investigation, design, execution, and maintenance.
Key Responsibilities:
Duties involve managing tasks or small projects, developing and executing field programs, drafting workplans, handling and analyzing environmental data, and producing comprehensive written reports detailing project activities and offering conclusions/recommendations. There might also be involvement in proposal development. Fieldwork includes environmental sample collection (such as soil, sediment, groundwater, soil vapor, indoor air, stormwater), soil boring logging, monitoring well installation, site inspections, compliance monitoring during construction, and maintaining clear, concise field notes. This work will be supervised by a Professional Civil Engineer or Professional Geologist, as appropriate.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's or Master's degree in civil/environmental engineering or geology/hydrogeology.
6 to 10 years of relevant work experience.
Proficiency in environmental site assessment and data collection techniques.
Experience in developing and executing field investigation programs.
Ability to prepare workplans and reports effectively.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills (proficient in English).
Self-motivated, resourceful, and well-organized, capable of managing multiple projects under strict deadlines and budgets.
Strong attention to detail, with adept analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Willingness to engage in fieldwork and travel when necessary.
Previous experience in environmental consulting.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and Adobe Acrobat; GIS and/or hydrologic modeling skills are advantageous.
Professional Engineering or Professional Geologist license and current OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER certification are desirable.
