LifeCity is seeking a Sustainable Manufacturing Consultant to support our corporate consulting, focusing primarily on the manufacturing sector in Louisiana. This will involve conducting sustainability assessments, generating reports, and providing feedback, research, and best-practice recommendations to companies and communities aiming to improve their ESG practices. The sustainability consultant will also produce ESG reports for LifeCity clients and work to improve LifeCity’s sustainable business practices within our own operations. Having client management skills and experience as well as a technical background in sustainability is important for this position.

PURPOSE
The Sustainable Manufacturing Consultant will coordinate all sustainability assessments with our manufacturing clients including pollution prevention programs, energy assessments, and investor-related assessments. LOCATION This job requires candidates to live in New Orleans and travel throughout the state to manufacturing facilities, and on occasion, national facilities where our assessments sometimes occur.

AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY
1. COORDINATE MANUFACTURING TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE
Schedule and attend sustainability assessments
Produce reports
Act as liaison to manufacturing facilities as needed
Coordinate follow-up with manufacturers for sustainability implementation
2. COORDINATE CORPORATE SUSTAINABILITY CONSULTING
Attend client meetings and take notes
Support research
Coordinate follow-up on next steps
3. SUPPORT NEW MARKETS TAX CREDITS IMPACT ASSESSMENTS
Attend impact assessments with manufacturers on behalf of investors
Interview community members for qualitative impact
Create reports validating impact of clients’ NMTC investments
4. PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT
Set internal professional goals
Participation in at least 1 professional growth and development activity per year, in coordination with company leadership
QUALIFICATIONS Required
Client management and relationship-building experience
Track record of project success from idea to implementation
Ability to handle critical conversations and feedback
Organizational skills
Strong written and verbal skills
Background in sustainability Preferred
Some background in sustainability and economic development
Some background in ESG and Impact Reporting
LEAN Six Sigma Certification and/or GHG certification and/or LEED Green Associate certification
Familiarity and experience with Impact measurement and tracking
Experience in data analysis
Experience using a client management tool/CRM
