Herberger Institute for Design and the Arts is in search for a Manager of IT. We need an energetic personality with strong work ethic. Be ready to actively engage with the our internal technology team to provide guidance and ensure successful completion of our projects and tasks. The Manager of IT will lead the technical initiatives of our institute, ensuring alignment with the broader enterprise goals, and help execute priorities from the Director of Technology. As the manager of our IT infrastructure, you will spearhead projects, implementation, and optimization of technology solutions to support the diverse needs of our faculty, staff, and students. Working Environment
Activities are performed in an environmentally controlled office setting subject to extended periods of sitting, keyboarding and manipulating a computer mouse; frequently required to stand for varying lengths of time and walk moderate distances to perform work.
Occasional bending, reaching, lifting, pushing and pulling up to 25 pounds.
Regular activities require ability to quickly change priorities which may include and/or are subject to resolution of conflicts.
Ability to clearly communicate to perform essential functions.
Ability to handle interruptions throughout the work day while still completing a high quality work.

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Information Systems, or related field AND five years of related experience, which includes three years of supervisory experience; OR, Any equivalent combination of education and/or experience from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved.

Flexible work options
•Alternative work schedules can include four, 10-hour workdays in a workweek; a nine-day, 80-hour schedule over two workweeks for exempt employees only; and staggered start and stop times.
•Hybrid work is an arrangement where employees spend a minimum of 60% of their regular workweek at their primary ASU work location. Dean or vice president-level approval is required.

Experience with migration of large scale services, management experience, strong customer service skills,
Experience in work at ASU, or other higher education, or large scale enterprise environments.
Demonstrated knowledge of current and future trends in computing technologies and management practices.
Demonstrated knowledge of current operating systems and computer architecture with emphasis on networked computing.
Demonstrated knowledge of management and supervisory principles and practices.
Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of the research and administrative functions of area assigned.
Experience in planning for information resources and technology.
Experience in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships.
Evidence of effective communication.
Experience in effectively managing, supervising and evaluating assigned staff.

Essential Duties Works with the IT Director on staff recruitment, development and evaluation; supervises, trains and evaluates assigned staff.
Oversees acquisition and operation of technology resources (computers, servers, networks, software, data services).
Works with administration/researchers to define, adapt, develop, and implement technology hardware and software solutions to the research, communications and security needs of the department.
Participates in formulation of annual budget and controls ongoing operating budget.
Directly interfaces with faculty, staff, researchers and/or administrators regarding ongoing operations, applications and existing resources.
Manages projects related to applications (networking, software, implementation, security).
Conducts direct liaison with university IT staff regarding ongoing operation, application and existing resources.
Participates in formulation of the department's technology plans and policies.
Administers the implementation of projects, and the application of policies.
Oversees troubleshooting and help desk activities.
