Bonton Associates is hiring for a Construction Manager position in its Construction & Engineering Inspections team, to be assigned to work full-time on DOA / FP&C projects across Louisiana, with a focus in New Orleans.
The role is similar to a Resident Project Representative and is responsible for oversight of construction activity and ongoing inspections of construction progress. The role works daily with the contractor(s) to review their work for quality and completeness and to make sure the project stays on schedule.
Day to Day Activities
Monitor and report to Project Managers and the lead of the Construction group at Bonton Associates on the progress of construction activity, including significant milestones and any conditions which would affect project cost or schedule.
Work closely with FP&C PM's to supplement their work efforts to provide functional oversight over contracted designers, contractors, and other professional consultants for projects in the sate program or in the oversight of entities under the non-state program.
Conduct and document field observations of construction activities.
Coordinates reviews and responses to requests for information and contract submittals between engineering and construction teams.
Reviews baseline construction schedules and monitors critical path activities during construction.
Discuss plans, specifications, and work schedules with project stakeholders including owners, engineering team, utility personnel, and the general public.
Obtain, prepare, and maintain reports, permits, maps, charts and/or records related to the construction.
Experience with public infrastructure construction management is preferred, but not required.
What We Are Looking For
Experience in construction management of public infrastructure projects
Technical degree or Bachelor's degree from an accredited program is preferred, but not required
Five years progressive experience in construction observation or experience related to utility, water, wastewater, drainage, earthwork, and roadway construction w/ Bachelor's Degree. Ten years progressive experience in construction observation or experience related to utility, water, wastewater, drainage, earthwork, and roadway construction w/out Bachelor's Degree.
Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, etc.

Physical Requirements
Normal, corrective vision range; ability to see color and to distinguish letters, numbers and symbols

Occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
Compensation and Benefits
Starting Salary = $95.5k, depends on experience
