Big Data Software Engineer The Opportunity:

As a back-end developer, you know that a good site or system needs the right combination of clean code, APIs, analytics, and infrastructure to develop a user-focused solution. We're looking for a back-end developer with the software engineering skills it takes to help identify potential risks, contribute to solution development, and create efficient and effective systems for our clients.

As a back-end developer at Booz Allen, you'll use the latest architectural approaches and open-source frameworks and tools to help deliver solutions. Using your software engineering knowledge, you'll work with and learn from the development team to create custom tools, systems, and sites with consistent performance and scalability.

You Have:

3+ years of experience with coding languages, such as Python, Java, or Scala

1+ years of experience with distributed computing technologies, such as Spark or Hadoop

1+ years of experience with data flow management and orchestration tools, such as NiFi, Airflow, or GitHub actions

Experience with deploying big data database technologies, such as Accumulo, HBASE, Cassandra, Elastic, or GeoMesa

Experience with object storage technologies, such as S3, NETAPP, or MinIO

Experience with containerization technologies, such as Docker, Podman, or Kubernetes

Experience with distributed file systems, such as Hadoop File System, Gluster, or Ceph

TS/SCI clearance with a polygraph

Bachelor's degree

Nice If You Have:

Experience with hot and cold storage design patterns for cost optimization

Experience with data processing and data flow patterns

Experience with analytic design, development, and implementations to support critical mission requirements

Clearance:

Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information; TS/SCI clearance with polygraph is required.

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual's particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $58,400.00 to $133,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen's total compensation package for employees.
